ETT Kids is here to support young athletes and parents on their journey to becoming a triathlete.

Most youth triathlon distances are designed for participation with a minimum of preparation involved for the active child. A good place to start is in the pool by determining if your child can complete the distance of the swim leg. If your child cannot swim more than a short distance without difficulty, beginner swim lessons or instruction may be appropriate. Not only will this enhance his or her fitness, but it will give you greater peace of mind for general safety in and around the water. The following is a list of local resources to help get you started.

UT Health East Texas Olympic Center Tyler

UT Health aquatics area features a 25 yard lap pool, a warm water pool and a spa. UT Health offers a variety of aquatic classes, opportunities for individual exercise and lap swim as well as children’s swim lessons.

CHRISTUS Mother Frances Health and Fitness

With locations in Tyler, Flint (Lake Palestine), Jacksonville, and Lindale, CHRISTUS Health and Fitness features a 25-meter, 3-lane, lap pool, a perfect place for your children to learn how to swim and/or train for their next triathlon.

The University of Texas at Tyler

The UT Tyler aquatics program brings a safe swimming environment to HPC patrons while also offering quality programs and classes. The pool opens year-round, 15 minutes after the HPC opens. The pool closes 15 minutes prior to HPC closing time.

During winter months, only the laps lanes and spa are available; but during warmer months, the covers are removed to provide a great atmosphere for studying or fun for the whole family.
